ASAP Kerala and Guardian Angel Institute of Caregiving Sign Strategic MoU to Enable Global Healthcare Career Pathways
The Additional Skill Acquisition Programme Kerala (ASAP Kerala) and the Guardian Angel Institute of Caregiving (GAIC) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on creating structured global career pathways, overseas employment opportunities, and on-the-job training (OJT) for healthcare and caregiving professionals, with a focused emphasis on candidates from the state of Kerala.
This landmark partnership positions GAIC as the first caregiving institute to enter into an MoU with ASAP Kerala, marking a significant milestone in strengthening internationally aligned caregiving education and ethical global workforce mobility.
The MoU was executed in Thiruvananthapuram and formally signed on behalf of ASAP Kerala by Dr. Usha Titus, IAS (Retd.), Chairperson and Managing Director, ASAP Kerala.
About ASAP Kerala
ASAP Kerala is an ISO 21001:2018 certified State Public Sector Undertaking under the Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala. It is recognized as both an Awarding Body and an Assessing Agency by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). ASAP Kerala plays a pivotal role in enhancing student employability through industry-aligned, higher-order skill training and structured workforce development initiatives.
Scope and Vision of the Partnership
Under this MoU, ASAP Kerala and GAIC will work collaboratively to establish fair, legal, and transparent international migration pathways, globally relevant skill training frameworks, and structured OJT and assessment mechanisms. The initiative is designed to significantly enhance the employability and global readiness of trained caregivers and healthcare professionals from Kerala.
The partnership aligns with the shared vision of transforming Kerala into a premier global hub for healthcare and caregiving talent, addressing the growing international demand for certified caregivers across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
Key Objectives of the MoU
Global Career Pathways
Facilitation of ethical and legal overseas employment through ASAP Kerala’s status as a Ministry of External Affairs–recognized Recruitment Agent.
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
Stipend-assisted training, real-world case exposure, and supervised learning opportunities provided by GAIC to ensure clinical and professional readiness.
International Standards Alignment
Development of training frameworks aligned with global healthcare and caregiving standards, enabling international recognition of certifications.
Joint Mobilization & Outreach
State-wide engagement through webinars, workshops, and awareness programs to inform and empower aspiring healthcare professionals.
